Well, we had weather and then we had weather. Some days were good; some were not so good. The weekend was cold, damp and windy. Almost a frost on the pumpkins on Sunday, but stayed above freezing. We still need some nice, warm, sunny days before the cold comes and stays. Some leaves are turning and some look pretty drab. Don’t look forward to what may be coming later. We hardly had summer, but maybe we’ll get Indian summer, which would be nice.
TJ, Alison, and Jase Lowden, along with Wesson, Marlton, NJ, spent the weekend at their home on Church Street and visited his parents, Ted and Mary, on Maple Terrace.
Next Civic meeting will be on Tuesday, October 16th, 6 p.m. at the Township Building since it will probably be too cold at the Pavilion. Membership dues are now due. See Heather McDonald to pay yours for 2019. Still just a buck. Looking for new members to join and help out in the community.
It’s nice to see the two signs that say “watch children” and “children at play” on Main Street and Church Street. Lets hope that drivers will see the signs and slow down. If you’re in such a hurry to get some place, leave earlier and take it easy.
Adel Bradshaw, West Chester, was in for a few days at her home here.
St Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Halloween and Fall decorations are starting to appear. The colors of the pumpkins, wreaths and Fall flowers really look so nice. I imagine the geese will be traveling to warmer weather soon.
There are October activities coming up so watch the Sully for these.
HINT: ” Did you know you can use Alka Seltzer to soothe insect bites? Dissolve two tablets in a glass of water. Use a cloth or cotton ball to apply it to the affected area. The red will go down and the itchiness will vanish in about fifteen minutes.”
Happy Birthday to Elizabeth Kapler, October 1st; Joe Fanning, 2nd. Have a good day.
Special birthday wishes to my little friend, Kyleigh McDonald, who celebrates her 9th on the 2nd. Have a super, duper day.
Happy Anniversary to Tony and Donna (Lansberry) Cikovic as they celebrate on the 2nd. Have a great day.
Still waiting on things to be delivered to work on the bridge. It was coming along really well until the mistake was made so that’s holding things up for quite some time now.
Bob and I visited our son and grandson, Jr. and Tyler in Hunlock Creek on Thursday. Then went on to Forty Fort to visit his sister and family and did some shopping.
Guess that does it for this time. Enjoy your week. Maybe it will warm up, but the brisk air does a person good too. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
