What a perfect weekend for outside work and things going on. Sunday was really nice, after a brief shower. There were lots of four-wheelers taking advantage of the weather by getting in a nice ride. May get some rain this week but last I heard, next week is to be quite warm again. Maybe we’ll get Indian summer. Looks nice to look out the window and see the sun out. Geese should be moving soon. The birds are at the feeder like they haven’t eaten in days.
It is archery season now, so those of you who don’t hunt, it would be a good time to stay away from the woods. Sometimes a hunter just does not pay attention and will shoot before he realizes it’s not a deer. Good luck hunters.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 57-928-1099.
Sympathy from the community to family, relatives and friends of Marie Sysock who recently passed away in California. She and her family were long time residents of Lopez, before moving out there. Very nice lady and will be missed.
Happy Birthday wishes to Gwen Hontz and Dylon Pequignot, , 7th; Irene Huray and Leah Elizabeth Risser, and Ryan Weisbrod, 8th; Sally Houseknecht, 12th; and Tom Iwancio and Mickey Bednar, 13th. Hope you all have a nice day of celebration.
Had a call from Barbara Craig. She and her husband, Jim, now live in Florida, but she says she misses Lopez and to tell all her friends Hello and she’s thinking of them. She said “it’s a balmy 85 degrees here and we’re loving it”.
HINT: “A safe, effective way to repel insects from your houseplants, including aphids, spider mites and mealy bugs. Put a drop of Dawn Dish washing Liquid in a spray bottle, fill the rest of the bottle with water, shake well, and mist your household plants with the soapy water.”
Still no work being done on the bridge in town. Maybe the place where the pieces are being made got flooded from that last Hurricane. Hopefully, we see some progress soon.
Hardly seems possible that October is here and Halloween is on the horizon. Time to start thinking of your costume and come to the party at the Pavilion on Halloween, the 31st, 6 p.m. Still seeing Fall and Halloween decorations out.
Guess that’s it from here. Enjoy your week; probably won’t have many more of the better weather. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for your.
