We had quite a week with the weather. Most days were warm, humid and breezy. We did have two storms. On Tuesday we had quite a bad storm with rain, wind, thunder and lightning. One crack of lightning was pretty powerful and struck the chimney on the Studio next door. Bricks all over the ground. Also took out our phone and a couple of LED lights. One neighbor had damage to his computer modem also that had to be replaced. Was the loudest I’ve ever heard. Thursday we had another storm, but not quite as bad as Tuesday. We did need the rain to get some moisture into the ground. The gardens seem to be producing really well and lots of canning and freezing of produce which will be good during the winter months. Hardly seems possible the months are passing by so quickly. I’d like summer to stay for a while yet.
Sympathy from the community to the relatives, family and many friends of Jake Gardner who passed away on the 24th. He had such a nice personality and enjoyed talking with everyone. Always had a smile on his face. He will be missed.
Sympathy from the community to the family and relatives of Marge (Bednar) Whipple who passed away on the 29th.
Sympathy from the community to the family, relatives and friends of Joan McDonald who passed away on the 30th. I got to know her through her son, Mike, when she and Joe visited them here. A pleasant lady to visit with. She will be missed.

Hope you all have a safe and happy Labor Day Holiday. I hear it’s to be a good weekend with nice weather. Enjoy your family gatherings, picnics, whatever you have planned. With all this corona stuff going on, not many activities going on around the area. Hopefully, soon, this will be over with and we can get back to doing what we were once doing.
Just remember to wear the mask, social distancing, don’t go out if you’re sick and most importantly, WASH YOUR HANDS often. We will get through this.
Enjoy your week. Should be fairly nice. Did hear some showers may be on the way, but hopefully not as bad as last week. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will put it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
