Hope you all had a nice week. Weather was really nice, with only one day of rain. We do need some gentle rain to sink into the ground and green things up. It’s very dry. Supposed to be hot and humid next week, with a few more days of rain. That is, if the weatherman is right. Have to wait and see. The gardens seem to be producing well and the flowers and looking really good.
The humming birds are at our feeder in abundance. Usually about a dozen flitting around fighting (or playing) to get a spot on the feeder. The bear made an early morning trip and left his calling card. Didn’t see him, but knew he was here. I don’t know what happened to the chipmunks. We had four little buggers and they seem to be gone. With the dry weather, there have been sightings of snakes out and about. So, just be aware when you’re walking around to watch for them. Some are big, some are small, but I don’t like any at all.
Next Civic meeting will be WEDNESDAY, September 16th, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. Membership dues are due September 1st. See Heather to renew or to become a member. Support your community.
Pavilion is also available for rent. A nice place for reunions, parties, showers and get-togethers. For information, contact me.
The Civic Association has masks for sale. They have the deer logo and Ice Box of PA on them. They are bought, printed and donated by B4 Grafx and More, Lopez. Thanks to him for supporting his community.
Still not much going on with the virus still around. Support the local businesses so they can survive during this pandemic. I keep hearing it’s going to be around for some time, but I hope that’s wrong and it’s gone and just a bad memory.
Mark and Lisa enjoyed a couple of days at their home here with the nice weather.
School has started. Hope the kids are going to do well and have a good year, despite the difference this year. Good luck to home schoolers as well. I think everyone will do their best to get through in good shape.
Happy Birthday to Kristin (McDonald) Mensch, September 5th; and Miles Baton, 8th. Have a good day.
B’s Gang sends Happy Birthday wishes to Roda Stasiak as she celebrates on the 6th. Have a great day.
I guess that’s all for now. Hope you enjoy your week and this nice weather. Hope it stays around for a while. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
