Most of the week actually was quite nice. Saturday hit us with 39 degrees in the early morning and was windy and cold most of the day. Sunday was 49 degrees early and was pretty chilly but did warm up nice later in the day. From what I hear more nice weather on the way. That’s fine with me.
Most of the hummers have gone South, so you know it’s getting cooler. We have a couple of stragglers coming down from Canada on their way South. We still have turkeys and deer in the field.
Geez —- not much to report with activities pretty much at a stand still right now. Some places are slowly opening up with restrictions. Support the local places. Practice social distancing and wear your mask. Wash your hands frequently. We will get through this—–I hope sooner than later.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. They are available the first and third Sunday of the month, from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Church Hall. Call 570-928-8909 to order yours. They go fast, so don’t delay.
Adel Bradshaw spent a few days at her home here and enjoyed the nice weather.
Rev Mother Christophora and Mother Magdalena, Orthodox Monastery, spent some time at St. Nicholas House. Weather was really nice while they were here so Mother Magdalena got to do quite a bit of walking. They got some projects done while they were here.
Hardly seems possible September is almost half over. Gardens are still producing and lots of canning and freezing being done. Will be very good come winter weather. Flowers are still looking pretty good yet.
