What a cold, nasty weekend it was. There was a cold, windy rain. It could cool down slowly, not so fast all at once. From what I’ve heard, we’re to get rain during the week from the storms down South. Too bad it couldn’t go to CA where they desperately need the rain for the wild fires. I did hear it’s supposed to warm up, but don’t know when exactly. Kids still liked to ride their scooters even if it was slightly raining.
Tom Beck and his grandson, Trey Beck, both from Sunbury, visited with us on Saturday afternoon. They were in the area so stopped by. Was a nice time.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Next Civic meeting will be on Tuesday, the 18th, 6 p.m., weather permitting. If it’s too nasty, will be held in the Township Building.
The Bow Hunter’s Festival is coming up on the 14th, 15th and 16th. Will be at the Forksville Fairgrounds and always draws a lot a people from all over to take part. Fun for adults as well as the kids. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and it will be nice for that weekend.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, Landenberg, spent some time at their home here. Always some yard work to do while they’re here.
I hope you all took a moment to say a prayer and remember those who lost their lives on 9-11.
Happy Birthday wishes to JoAnn McDonald and Carmela Walosin, 19th; Mya Evans, 20th; and Roland Dayton, 21st. Have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Scott and Susan Aharonian, 14th; Ed and Kay Walton, 16th.
HINT: “Kids get into the darnedest things! Like Vaseline and baby oil rubbed into their hair? Dawn is mild enough to use on their hair and strong enough to remove the most stubborn grease.” “Partially fill a strong zip-type sandwich bag with Dawn dishwashing liquid, close and freeze. The liquid soap stays cold much longer and it can be re-frozen many times. It will conform to the place you need an ice pack.”
Can’t think of anything else. Enjoy your week; before long it will really be cold and you know what else. I won’t mention that word. Tooooo early for that yet. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
