Have been having some nice weather after a couple of rain showers during the week. The Holiday weekend turned out quite nice for those having picnics and family get-togethers. Hope you all had a splendid time.
The weather for the week is to be hot and humid with “spotty” showers here and there. So, we may get some rain and we may not. Temperatures are to be in the high 80’s and low 90’s. Still pool time, quad and motorcycle riding yet to be done. The gardens look to be about done, but the flower beds and hanging baskets still look pretty nice. Next, it will be leaves changing and hearing geese going South, but I hope not too soon yet. We’re still seeing geese in the cemetery here.
Sullivan County Fair is over and I’m sure it was a success again this year. If you went, I hope you had an enjoyable time. There’s always lots to do at the Fair.
TJ, Allison and Jase Lowden, along with Wesson, Marlton, NJ, spent the weekend at their home on Church Street. First time here with the baby. They also visited Ted and Mary Lowden, Maple Terrace.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Next Civic meeting will be on Tuesday, the 18th, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. Should still be warm enough. (I hope.)
Bob and I, along with Bob Jr. and Tyler, Hunlock Creek, enjoyed a cook-out with Brian McGuire and Nina Weslowski on Monday.
Happy Birthday wishes to Miles Baton, 8th; and Alexia Vermiere, 13th. Have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Gus and Edith Tamburro and Jim and Barbara Craig as they celebrate 58 years on the 10th. Many More. Both couples had homes in Lopez. Tamburro’s are back in Marlton, NJ. Jim and Barbara have sold their home in Media and are now living in sunny Florida. Miss all of them here.
HINT: ” Salt water can be used to prevent wicker furniture from turning yellow. Also, spread salt between bricks and blocks on your patio, sprinkle water and you have created you own weed killer.”
I’m sure there will be Fall activities going on in the County so keep an eye on the Sullivan Review for those things you might be interested in. Might be some last minute yard sales if the weather is nice.
Guess that’s it for now from this neck of the woods. Enjoy your week. You’ll need the sunglasses and AC for sure. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
