We are getting some frosty weather. I guess it’s that time of year. We did have some nice days after cool mornings. Saturday we had a good frost. We had rain, wind and cold too. I still haven’t seen any geese going South. Guess I’m just not out when they are flying over.
It is with sadness that I report another loss in our community. Sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Bob Neufer who passed away on Saturday. He was a big part of the community, being very involved with St. Vladimir’s Church, the Civic Association and mowing lawns. He will truly be missed.
Got the following e-mail from William Fox in Lesterville, after reading about the black panther. He said they were at Foxes Den up there and the guys saw a Fisher Cat in the back yard for a second time. He thinks rather than a black panther it was the Fisher Cat. He said it’s a pretty good size and runs like a cat. So, maybe no black panther, just a Fisher Cat.
While Alex and Ginny Stavisky were here recently they were out quadding up past Cold Spring and they saw a porcupine. Nothing unusual; he just thought with the mention of the other animals, he would mention what they saw.
Next Civic meeting will be on Tuesday, the 15th, at the TOWNSHIP BUILDING. I think it will be too cold at the Pavilion. Civic dues are still being taken by Heather McDonald. See her to pay your 2020 dues or any years you may be behind on.
Halloween is fast approaching. The annual party will be on Halloween, the 31st, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. Goodies and prizes. If you’d like the ghosts and goblins to stop by your house, please leave your porch light on.
B’s gang sends Congratulations and Best Wishes to Billy and Tori (Robinson) Stasiak as they were married on Saturday at Connell’s Dam. Beautiful day for an outdoor wedding.
Sympathy from the community to the family and relatives of Victor Stavisky who recently passed away.
Happy Birthday wishes to Sally Houseknecht, 12th; Tom Iwancio and Mickey Bednar, 13th; Brad Hubiak and Bob Burke, 14th; Josh Anderson and Ken Smith, 17th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Ted and Fay Puzo as they celebrate on the 14th. Have a good day.
Don’t forget, Saturday and Sunday, the 12th and 13th, is the 39th Sullivan County Fall Festival, held at the Forksville Fair Grounds, rain or shine. Lots of food, kids activities, demonstrations, lumberjack/chainsaw carving competition. Take a ride down and enjoy the time there.
TJ, Allison and Jase Lowden, along with Wesson, Marlton, NJ, spent a few days at their home on Church Street and visited his parents, Ted and Mary on Maple Terrace. They did some archery deer hunting while they were here.
I didn’t realize archery for deer is in now. Good luck hunters. Haven’t heard if there were any lucky hunters so far.
I think that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week. Will really need the umbrellas and boots. Heard we are to get some substantial rain most of the week. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
A very lovely bridal photo of some one we think was a local person , but we just don’t know who.
