Had another week of up and down weather. Had pouring rain all day Monday. Had some frosty mornings and then a warm up during the day. Saturday and Sunday we were hit with frosts, but got nice after a while. Last I heard, we may get some showers and cooler weather during the week, but the weekend is to be really warm again. I’ll take it. Just not ready for what will soon be coming.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly and a couple of friends, came up from Landenberg to spend the weekend at their home here. They all enjoyed the Fall Festival in Forksville, even with the rain that dampened them for a while. It did get warm and sun shiny later in the day.
Irene Pequignot, Linden, spent the weekend at her home on Church Street.
Don’t forget that Halloween will be coming up on the 31st. The party will be held at the Pavilion at 6 p.m. Prizes, treats and fun, so get your costume ready and come on over. Please remember to leave your porch light on if you want all these “spooks” to stop by.
Civic dues are now due. See Heather McDonald to pay your 2020 dues or any that you have been lax on.
Bob McGuire, Jr., Hunlock Creek, Brian McGuire and Nina Weslowski enjoyed an old fashioned “weenie” roast on Friday evening with us. Weather was a little chilly, but a nice bonfire was going to roast the dogs and keep warm. Missed you Alex.
Haven’t heard if there have been any lucky archery deer hunters in this area. Don’t know how long the season is, but good luck anyway.
Happy Birthday to Marie Cikovic, 19th; Ted Hubiak, 20th; Aine Lee McDonald, 21st. Hope you all have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Kevin and Terri Bullis as they celebrate on the 20th. Have a good day.
Keep an eye on the Sully for things that may be coming up that you might be interested in.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. Please call 570-928-8909 and leave your order on the phone. There will be pierogie pick up on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thank you for your order.
The Halloween and Fall decorations are looking quite nice at the homes around town. I see there are a lot of pumpkins to make pie, pumpkin roll and cookies when Halloween is over and they can be used.
Guess that’s about it for now. Enjoy your week, whatever you plan to do, even if we get some sprinkles. Have your boots and umbrella handy. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will put it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
An old building in town was just torn down. It was once the Hallabuk home. One photo was saved from it was a photo of Helen Hallabuk taken some time ago.
