Good morning on this cold, frosty Sunday. Hope everyone is doing well. I must apologize for no Lopez news last week. I was a tad under the weather so didn’t get it done. I’m much better and here I am.
We had some really frosty early mornings with temperatures in the low 20’s. Did warm up, which was nice. We did have a couple days of much needed rain. Hopefully we’ll get some more nice days, but it’s getting that time of year when they are done with.
Gerry and Paula Weslowski, Allentown, spent the weekend with daughter, Nina Weslowski and Brian McGuire.
Jim Glasson, son, Jim, Jr. and nephew, Joseph Glasson, Levittown, spent a few days at Tall Timbers here. Got some things done while the weather was nice, but the rain dampened things a little on Saturday, but work went on. Their friend, Tony Sneidar, Jr. helped out by footing the bill for use of the extension ladder they borrowed from Tony’s neighbor, Bob McGuire. Their friend, Chris, also gave a helping hand. Was much appreciated.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale the first and third Sunday of the month. They are available at the Church hall from Noon to 1 p.m. Please call 570-928-8909 to order yours.
Welcome to the community to Bob McGuire, Jr. who has purchased the Lucas Bahr home on Main Street. Had a nice dinner with him on Saturday night.
Don’t forget to change your clocks BACK one hour on Saturday night.
Remember to get out and vote on Tuesday, November 3rd. It’s your right and your privilege. Just do it!
If you hunters are still out trying to get your deer, Good Luck! I’ve seen some going back and forth to the woods but didn’t see any deer coming out yet.
Happy Birthday wishes to Maddie Pochatko, 24th; Marty Whatley, 25th; Makayla Day, 27th; Lydia Spinosa, 28th; Leo McDonald and Misty Pequignot, 31st. Hope you all have a good day.
Happy Anniversary to Bruce and Helen (Maximiak) Amon, 24th Tom and Kristin (Anderson) Iwancio, 25th; and Marty and Dee Whatley, 27th. Have a great day.
Civic membership dues are now due. See Heather McDonald to renew or to join the Association. Last Civic meeting of the year will be on Wednesday, November 18th, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. The Civic does have Lopez masks, t-shirts, hoodies and koozies available. Contact me if interested.
Hardly seems possible that October is about over. Happy Halloween to all.
Guess that’s about it. Enjoy your week. I heard it’s to be pretty rainy and cold, but guess we can handle that. Maybe some sun along with it. Just no “s” yet. Too early. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for taking the time to read and I’ll be here next time.
