Been having some nice weather for a few days; other than the wind, that is. Sun feels good, but the wind could go away. Was over 50 degrees both Saturday and Sunday and last I heard it’s to be above normal, with no storms, right through the 19th. Can you believe that? We’ll see.
Halloween went very well at the Pavilion. Had lots of kids all costumed up waiting to be judged, after having some snacks. Thanks to Dave, Ruth and Clair for taking on the job of judging. Winners were: 0-3 – Original – Henry Ritinski; Pretty – Hailey Mensch; Funny – Grayson Burke. 4-7 – Original – Gaige Burke; Pretty – Kyleigh McDonald; Funny – Miles Baton. 8-11 – Original – Angel Clark; Pretty – Ember Higley; Funny – Landyn Sperry. 12 – Up – Original – Alexis Musani; Pretty – Katherine Kapler; Funny – Eric Applegate. Thanks to Brian McGuire for driving the truck with the hay wagon and taking the kids around town to visit the houses to get their treats. Kids, as well as adults, enjoyed the ride and the town folk were happy to see them. Thanks to Kathy Neufer and family for chairing the event this year. Did a great job. Thanks to all who donated in any way to make this a fun time. And, most of all, thanks to those who left their porch light on for the kids to stop by.
Spending the weekend with Ted and Mary Lowden, Maple Terrace, was her brother, Jack Eggers and his friend, Barbara Royko, Glassboro, NJ. They enjoyed Jolly Trolley and World’s End. It was a great weekend and Ted and Mary loved having them here. Hope they visit again soon.

HINT: “For left over salad, put a paper towel over the top instead of a lid. This keeps the salad fresh and any cheese that’s used will not get soggy.” “To get rid of musty basements smells, put charcoal in a flat one foot by two foot box and sprinkle with one pint of Epsom salts. Scattering a few charcoal here and there also works.”
I think that’s the news for this time. Enjoy your week. I see, since the weather is nice, that a few are putting out their Christmas decorations. Gotta get past Thanksgiving first. Don’t know if any of the hunters are lucky; haven’t heard anything, but the season will be here for a while. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading.
