Had some pretty cold temperatures and frost during the week. Lowest was four degrees on Wednesday. The sun feels nice, but the wicked wind is always with us. Last I heard, it’s to warm up, with rain. I’ll take the warm, but not the rain. We’d probably get sleet.
I see there are some Christmas decorations going up. Looks nice but we have to get through Thanksgiving first, and it’s only a couple of weeks away.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-8909 and leave a message with your order. Pierogie pick up will be on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Guess there is some kind of hunting going on. I see hunters going up in the woods. Don’t know if they’ve gotten anything, but good luck to all. If you want to check hunting dates, look at Linda Raub’s Forksville news. She’s really up on all that since she and her family do hunt.
Some birthday wishes to send out. Happy Birthday to Serenity Laird and Reese Baton who both celebrate on the 23rd. Cassidy Brown ‘s special day is on the 30th. Hope you all have a nice day.
I haven’t seen much ice on the ponds so far. Going past Lake Jean the other day, there were just dribs and drabs along the shore line. May be a little early yet.
There will still be things going on around the County. Keep an eye on the Sully for these events. Might be something you’d like to do.
If you missed the New Albany Volunteer Fire Co. play, you still have time. The play, A Fractured Hee Haw will be presented again on Friday and Saturday, the 22nd and 23rd, 7 p.m. at the Fire Hall in New Albany. There will be a bag auction, basket raffles, food and beverages for sale each evening. Take time to go and support the Fire Company.
Bob and I enjoyed lunch, with some of his classmates, at Angelo’s Restaurant in Wyoming on Saturday. They are making plans for their 60th high school class reunion next July. Thirteen were in attendance and all had a nice time and got some things taken care of.
I will say Happy Thanksgiving now as some may not get the paper in time for the following week. Enjoy your time with family and friends. Give thanks to those who cannot be with us due to serving out of Country to keep us free.
Guess that’s the news. Enjoy your week, whether it’s warm, cold, sunny or rainy. Gotta put up with this kinds of weather. It’s winter, ya know.
Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail met a news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
