MAY 22, 2019
Weather, weather, weather. What can I say. It rained Monday,Tuesday and Wednesday, and was cold and windy. Friday, Saturday and Sunday were nice until Sunday afternoon when we started getting severe storm warnings. We didn’t get what they had said, but did have rain, wind, thunder and lightning off an on most of the evening. Haven’t heard what the week will bring, but I hope it’ll be good weather for the Holiday weekend coming up, with Memorial Day parades and picnics. We sure don’t need this rain.
Sincere and deepest sympathy to the family, relatives and many, many friends of V Rev Gary Matychak as his wife, Georgette, passed away early Sunday morning. Gary was born and raised in Lopez, became a priest and lives in Altoona. Thoughts and prayers are with them at this difficult time.
Congratulations to Dustin and Samantha Burke on the birth of their son. Deacon James Burke was born on the 15th, weighing 7 lbs. 1 oz. and 20 inches long. He has two brothers, Gaige and Grayson at home. Have fun with this little bundle of joy.
Ted and Mary Lowden, Maple Terrace, spent a few days in NJ with TJ, Alison and Jase Lowden. They were there for Jase’s first birthday celebration. They all had a wonderful time. Hardly seems possible he’s one year old already. Time passes by so fast.
I hope you all got out and voted on Tuesday. Even if the person/persons you voted for didn’t make it, you did your duty and had the privilege to vote.

HINT: “Add Sage and Rosemary to your campfire to help keep mosquitos and bugs away: wrap the Herbs in some aluminum foil…..wet it…..poke some holes in the foil…..it will smoke all night.”
HINT: “Take 1 gallon of vinegar 2 cups of Epsom salts and ¼ cup of dish soap, mix all together and pour some into a spray bottle and spray your weeds in the morning and they will be dead by evening. It also takes them longer to come back. Just don’t spray what you don’t want to kill. This does work.”
