Holy cow!!! Mother Nature sure isn’t cooperating with nice weather at all. Most of the week was cold, windy and cloudy. Saturday was a really nice day. Sunday was miserable with rain and cold all day. Not a good day to help Mom’s celebrate their special day. Last I heard, rain almost all week again, with Wednesday the nicer day. Enough already. We’ll need goats and cows pretty soon if the grass keeps growing with all the rain. On Sunday our power and phones were out for an hour and a half, due to someone hitting a pole.
Sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of James Eugene Spence who passed away on Sunday, the 12th. Funeral was held on Wednesday, the 15th at St. Basil’s Church, with burial in the Parish cemetery.

Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek, spent Saturday with Bob and JoAnn McGuire and helped her celebrate Mother’s Day. Tyler enjoyed fishing at the pond, along with Kaeleigh and Kyleigh McDonald. Caught some fish, but threw them back. Just fun for the kids.

HINT: “Place some orange peels in a Mason jar; fill with vinegar. Let sit for two weeks. Pour vinegar into a spray bottle and use for cleaning, bug spray and to eliminate ants.”
I think that’s the news from this chilly back yard in Lopez. Enjoy your week. Somehow we’ll manage. We always seem to cope. Might have to wear a light jacket or use the umbrella, but it’s all good. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
