May 13, 2020
Hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day weekend. For May, the weather was pretty miserable some days. Monday wasn’t bad. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was only 28 degrees in the early morning, with frost. Warmed up some later in the day. Friday was horrible with rain that turned to snow that covered the ground. Saturday was only 20 degrees early with frost again and light snow off and on during the day. We did have a couple of warm days when the temperature was up in the 50’s. Sun felt good, but that sure didn’t last. Mother Nature’s boyfriend was ever present with his wind blowing most of the time, sometimes pretty hard.
Congratulations to Klyer Burke for Distinguished Honor Roll for the 3rd marking period. Congratulations to Charles Armioia, Paige Burke, Joey Malkemes and John Carmelo for Honor Roll. Great job to all of you.
The fox has been back. The neighbors saw him roaming around down there trying to catch a rabbit but it got away. Be on the watch for the “sly guy” and hope he’s not after the chickens.
There will be NO civic meeting for the month of May. There will be a meeting on Tuesday, June 16th, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion so we can do social distancing. The flea market that had been scheduled for June 20th has been postponed to a later date, which we don’t know yet.
I sure hope this virus will be over soon. It’s so sad that folks can’t get together to visit and for those who cannot see loved ones in nursing homes or hospitals. At least with modern technology, a lot of people can do Skype, Facetime or Zoom to get in touch. Not only that, there are so many that are out of work and would really like to get back in the work force. It’s going slow and hopefully will be in full gear soon. We just have to do the best we can. Wear masks, gloves, do social distancing and WASH YOUR HANDS!!
Birthday wishes to Cory McDonald and Deacon Burke, 15th; Marian Hubiak, 19th; and Janet Weidner, 22nd. Hope you all have a sunny day.
