JULY 31, 2019
Hope you all had a nice weekend. Weather was pretty good most of the week, with a couple of showers along the way. Hope other Nature will be in our favor Saturday for Old Home Day. I saw on TV there may be a couple showers early in the week, but the weekend looked good.
Old Home is coming up on Saturday and you still have time to donate to the fireworks fund. If interested, contact Brian McGuire at 570-928-9838. Any amount will be appreciated. Hope to see you there.
Got the following e-mail to share:
Don and Irene (Kravitz) Risser spent several days in town last week. Also visiting were their sons, John and Aaron, granddaughter, Leah Elizabeth, and the family dogs, Cammi, Quinn, and Cassie. Along with cousin, Sienna Miller, they went to the Lycoming County Fair in Hughesville. On Sunday, they served brunch to aunts, Mary Kravetz and Annabelle Kravetz. They had a bear sighting while on an afternoon walk. Other activities were kayaking, doing crafts, hiking, and playing board games. Everyone enjoyed a good vacation on the mountain.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
4-H Rocketry meetings are over, but the launch will be held on Saturday, August 10th, at the Harvey Vough farm at 10 a.m. Get your rocket ready and have a good time. Rain date will be Sunday, the 11th.
Now that the weather is nicer, there are activities going on around the County. Keep an eye on the Sully for these events.
I think that’s it for this week. Enjoy the week; hopefully will be real nice,
even with a little shower. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
Here is what the Lopez Commemorative Mug Collection looks like now.
