Weather again this week had its ups and downs. It rained, was nice, was windy, was cloudy and did it all over again. Saturday there was a rainbow after a down pour a couple of times, because it would rain, the sun would come out so nice and a rainbow would appear. Sunday was nice, except for the wind that didn’t want to stop all day long. The leaves were really showing their bottoms, which I was told meant rain, but didn’t get any. The branches were sure swaying back and forth. I guess the week is to be hot and muggy again, but I’ll take that over snow and cold.
It seems that the bear have been around quite a lot lately. A mother and a couple cubs were seen up Fannings and they also saw a BIG ONE up there while they were here for the weekend, getting some yard work done. Diane was mowing grass and turned the mower around and there he/she was, with a cub. They ambled off into the woods. She told Joe to be on the look-out when he was by the pole barn too. We had one in our back yard early afternoon on Friday. Scared the bejesus out of me. Never know anymore when and what time they will be around.
Don’t forget, Flea Market, Saturday, the 6th, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Pavilion. Stop by and see what you might be interested in.

I know there are things that will be going on as the months progress. The Mildred Fireman’s Carnival is in July and also the turtle races in New Albany, so kids, get your turtle and have a fun time. Keep an eye on the Sully for those things going on and other dining and entertainment activities. It’s that time of year and can only hope for outdoor doings that the weather will cooperate and be nice. We’ve had enough rain for the rest of the year.
Guess that’s the news for this time. Enjoy your week, whatever you plan. Gardens and flower beds are really looking good. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
