We had some hot and humid days this past week. Also had a couple of thunder storms with heavy rain on both Saturday and Sunday. I guess the gardens will get a good drink from that rain. Guess we will get more during the week.
Mother Galina and Mother Seraphima, Orthodox Monastery, Ellwood
City spent a few days at St. Nicholas House on Church Street.
Mama bear and her cubs are still around checking out bird feeders and empty burning barrels. Guess they just like it here.
Don’t forget, Lopez Old Home Day is ONE day this year; Saturday, August 4th, Noon to Midnight. Check out Lopez Civic Association on Face Book. Posters are out and about. Our ad was in the Sully last week and will be in again on Wednesday, the 25th. Hope to see you there.

HINT: ” Salt mixed with soapy water is perfect for killing poison ivy.”
(I tried the hint with the water, sugar and boric acid powder for getting rid of ants. DID NOT WORK. The ants went all around the dish; never went in the dish, so don’t know if I did something wrong or what. Maybe someone else can let me know if they tried it and if it worked.)
Bob and I attended the Che-Hanna picnic on Sunday, held at Saterlee Creek Park in Litchfield. Many in attendance; good food; nice visiting and enjoying games too. Had no rain at all there.
Adel Bradshaw, West Chester, is spending a few days at her home here.
Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek, spent Saturday visiting Bob and JoAnn McGuire and Brian McGuire. Had a nice time while they were here.
Sts/ Peter and Paul Byzantine Church, Church Street, will have services on Sunday, the 29th. All are welcome and they have social hour after church.
