Happy New Year!! Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and hope the New Year is going well so far. The weather did cooperate for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Was good for travel for those who were going to visit friends and family. New Year’s Eve was a little dicey with some slick roads. New Year’s Day was much better. Flurries are flying around out there this Sunday as I am typing my news; it’s bitter cold and windy, but the sun is trying to help out, but not doing much. Maybe more coming Tuesday into Wednesday, but don’t know how much.
Congratulations to Tyler McGuire who was named to the Dean’s list at RIT, Rochester, NY. He is the son of Bob McGuire, Jr. Hunlock Creek, and grandson of Bob and JoAnn McGuire, Lopez.
St. Vladimir’s Church has halupki for sale. Available the second and fourth Sundays of the month from 12 – 1 p.m., at the Hall. Stop by and get yours; they go fast. They are out of pierogies, but hope to replenish soon.
Cold weather is coming for sure and you need a Lopez hoodie.. We still have retro hoodies and tshirts for sale. If interested, contact me at the info below.
Some birthday wishes for January. Some are for early, some are for later. Happy Birthday to Jim Craig, 1st, down there in sunny FL; Jeannie Kapler, Edith Tamburro, and Alex Stavisky, all on the 4th; Matt Weisbrod, 6th; Linda Santarelli, 7th;and John McDonald, Jr., 9th. Hope you all had/have a nice day.
I know there will be some winter activities going on, so keep an eye on the Sully for those happenings.
Guess that’s the news from my snowy back yard. Enjoy your week; might just be pretty nice. If not, stay warm; drink something hot and bundle up if you have to go outside. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will put it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Comments, good or bad, are always welcome.
