Well, here it is. This is the last issue of the Sully for the year. Hope you all had a good year. Weather during this last week was in the low digits and still very windy. I did hear that Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are to be really nice. And….the week up to New Year’s. Will those weather men be right? We’ll have to wait and see.
Job Corps Center hosted a Christmas luncheon on Saturday. The gym was decorated with a large, beautiful tree from Jugan’s Tree Farm. The tables were festive with tiny trees and chocolate candies. Santa stopped to visit with the kids. This luncheon was for the Staff and their families, any kids who were not able to go home for Christmas and for CRC members. Kids got a treat from Santa and CRC members were also given a Christmas gift. Food was delicious and plentiful; desserts were so good, made by Mad Bakers in Dushore. Christmas music played while we ate and then there was a silent auction where the winners were announced. Congratulations to Tom and Kathy Robbins and Wylie and Melanie Norton who were presented a plaque for their many years of involvement with Job Corps, their community and Sullivan County and beyond. Those from Lopez who were able to go included Les and Kathy Isett, Molly and Clair Johnson, Dave and Ruth Kale, Mr. and Mrs. Saylor and Bob and I. Everyone at Red Rock Job Corps Center is to be commended for making this a day to remember. Merry Christmas!!
Safe travels to all who are going to visit relatives and friends over this Holiday season. Seems there will be no storms, so that’s good right there. I’ll have more when the next Sully comes out of visitors around the area.
Guess that’s it for now. Enjoy! Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and see you in 2020. Merry Christmas to all and to all a great day!
