Up and down weather all last week. Monday very windy and cold; Tuesday was MINUS 8 degrees; rain and sun on Wednesday; Thursday, Friday and Saturday was snow showers off and on. Had some icy roads so schools were closed or delayed because of that. Sunday we had snow showers off and on. Monday was to be a really nice day with sunshine, but cold. I heard we could get 4-8 inches of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning?? Did it happen? An arctic blast is supposed to hit us also. Just think….”SPRING” is just around the corner. I bet the snow birds who left Sullivan County are glad they are enjoying the nice weather in Florida. It’ll get better; just hang in there.
Sympathy from the community to family, relatives and friends of Ed Walton who passed away on Sunday. The family has a cabin at Lesterville. I always enjoyed visiting with him and Kay on Old Home Day. He loved it up here and spent a lot of time at the cabin when he could. He gave many donations to the Civic Association for up-keep of Cold Spring. He would always call and tell me of their anniversary and how many kids and grandkids there were. Nice man; he will be missed.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Get well to any of you who have been bothered with colds or flu. We’re just getting over miserable colds that were no fun. Hope it passes you all by.

HINT: ” Mix 1 TBSP of Dawn Dish Detergent; 1 TBSP rubbing alcohol and 1/2 Gallon of warm/hot water. Pour over walkways and they won’t re-freeze.” (Good one for this time of year.)
Had a nice phone call from Joe Caccia who wanted to know how things are in Lopez and checking up on friends. He said it’s been cold in IL also and hoping for warmer weather.
