Can’t say much about the weather this week again, except that it’s been a roller coaster. It’s been hot, cold, warm, and we had so much rain; then it froze and made a mess; the creeks backed up with ice and that was worse yet. I think Mother Nature needs to give us a break. Supposed to be cold most of the week. I’d sure like to see Spring soon.
Mrs. Irene Huray has returned home after spending the Holidays with her daughter, Irene Pequignot and family.
No January Civic meeting.
The Civic Association has a few hoodies and some koozies available for sale. Get yours before they’re gone; the hoodie will be nice and warm in this frigid weather. If interested, call “B” at 570-954-6319.
HINT: “If you have problems with kidney stones and cannot or don’t want to take the medicine prescribed, you can do the following and it works very well. Take a whole lemon and cut it up; put it in a blender and puree. Drink about one tablespoon each day. If you have to, add some raw honey to make it easier to go down. It’s a natural acid that won’t interfere with most other medications and this will prevent kidney stones from forming.” (Got this from Pat, who says it came from an herbalist.)
Happy Birthday wishes to Adel Bradshaw, 20th; Alice Fedorchak and Jim Rouse, 21st; and Irene Pequignot, 22nd. Have a good day.
Happy Anniversary to Alex and Ginny Stavisky as they celebrated down there in “warm” Florida on the 22nd. Have a nice day.
I know there are winter activities going on in the County. Winter Fest is coming up and with the cold, cold weather, maybe the Eagles Mere toboggan slide will be built. Keep and eye on the Sully for what, where and when, if you’re interested in any activities.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little blue book: January 14, 1982: Cloudy and five inches of snow; 22 degrees. January 14, 2018 – cold, windy, sunny, minus three degrees and snow and icy spots around. Need some better weather.
We switched to gmail and for an “old” lady like me, it’s really taking time to get used to all the new things that one has to do. But…..I’m getting there.
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; just bundle up really good; get out and get some fresh air and exercise. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at www.news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Keep the hints coming and thanks for reading. I’ll be here next time.
