The only thing I can say about this weather is, “it’s FREAKIN’ cold!!!”
Had 16 degrees below last Monday; during the week it was below every morning; today (Sun.) it was 16 degrees below again. I don’t think it hit 20 degrees all last week. Good news…..it is to warm up during the week, so that’s good to hear.
Thoughts and prayers to the Kilgus and Schiele families on the loss of all their possessions in the recent fire. You can call Blasi’s Beginnings in Dushore at 570-932-0092 for information on what is needed. Anything you can do to help them get back on their feet will be greatly appreciated. Just read the Fire Co. report on FB. AWESOME……$4100 collected in two days for the families. Great response from everyone. THANK YOU!!!
Sympathy from the community to the family and friends of Jim Kauffman who passed away on Christmas Day. A memorial service will be held on January 25th in Hamburg, PA.

HINT: “After you have finished your automotive repair project, soak your dirty tools in Dawn before you put them away to remove all the oil and grime. Dawn also helps prevent rust from forming on the tools.”
It’s been so cold all week that I haven’t seen many folks out and about, unless necessary. Can’t wait for the warmer weather.
There are winter activities coming up in the County, so keep an eye on the Sully to see what, where and when.
I guess Mr. Bruin has been back recently. Now, with it getting colder, maybe he will finally hibernate.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book: January 7, 1974 — Cloudy and cold and 20 degrees. Ours was a little bit colder , but we did have some afternoon sun with warmer temps.
Guess that’s about all for now from the Ice Box. Enjoy your week; it will be much nicer to get out. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
