Weather has been so screwy lately. Cold, very windy, cloudy and sometimes some sun. I guess that’s winter. No snow to speak of so far, which is good as far as I’m concerned. We had a light dusting on Sunday morning.
Sympathy to the family, relatives and friends of Barbara (Neufer) Harvey who passed away on January 2nd. A memorial gathering to celebrate her life was held on the 7th at Fiore Funeral Home in Bangor. Interment will be at a later day, at the convenience of the family, at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Cemetery in Lopez. Barbara was a big help with her Church here and could always been seen Old Home Day helping with their food stand.
Sympathy from the community to the family of John Borick who passed away on the 11th. Funeral was held on Thursday at St. Vladimir’s Church with burial at St. Vladimir’s Cemetery. John was a big part of Lopez and did so much for the community and his Church. He spent a lot of time here when he wasn’t in NJ.
Keep a watch on the Sully for things that will be coming up that may be of interest to you. Always something to keep one entertained.
Good luck to the Sneidar families as they now have Colley Pub open. Check it out on Face Book. Have heard some very good comments.
St. Vladirmir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order call 570-928-1099.
Happy Birthday to Alice Fedorchak and Jim Rouse, 21st; Irene Pequignot; 22nd. Hope you all have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Alex and Ginny Stavisky, 22nd; and Al and Jeannie Kapler, 23rd. Congrats and many more.
HINT: Found out a good tip over the weekend. Did you know if you put your flour, pasta, oatmeal and other things in the freezer for a couple weeks, it will kill anything in it. Then you can put it in your pantry or containers. Most anything can be kept in the freezer. Thanks, Renie, for this tip and I’m going to do that.
Guess that’s it. Enjoy your week; seems like it’s going to be pretty quiet for the most part. Something may be coming Thursday night into Friday, but a little early to tell yet. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238, mail me, see me, or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll put it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
