Can’t believe I saw the sun for a couple of days. Sunday afternoon with the sun out, the temperature went up to 45 degrees and melted some more snow. Was cold in the early mornings with some frost and the wind is our constant companion. I hear the weather for the week is to be pretty good with no storms on the horizon. Hope this is true, but it is January and winter yet.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale, the first and third Sunday of the month. They can be picked up at the Church Hall from Noon to 1 p.m. Call 570-928-9238 to order yours.
Hope everyone is doing well with this crazy virus still around. Now, I heard there is a second strain that has come from England. Will it ever be over with. Seems to go on and on. Do your part to help keep the virus under control. Wear your mask, practice social distancing, wash your hands often and if you don’t feel well, stay home.
I try to keep in touch with folks by phone or Face Book. Sometimes it’s nice for them to hear that someone is checking on them, since they aren’t going out at this time. Sullivan County virus cases are still going up.
If you can, now that some establishments are being open for longer hours, stop by to support them, whether it’s a bar, restaurant or store. They are struggling to keep afloat and need all the help we can give them.
Happy Birthday to Adel Bradshaw, 20th; Jim Rouse, 21st; Irene Pequignot, 22nd; and Mike Stavisky down there in FL, 24th. Have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Mary and Ted Lowden for 40 wonderful years on the 17th; Alex and Ginny Stavisky, 22nd; and Al and Jeannie Kapler, 23rd. Have a great day celebrating.
Not much to report. I did see the neighbor girls sledding on the hill across the street one day. Saw about nine turkeys running through one other day. Don’t seem to see any deer at all.
Guess that’s it. Enjoy your week. Be nice to get out and take a walk and get some fresh air before the weather turns bad again. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will put it in for you. Please do this by 6 p.m. so I can get it to the Sully soon after. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Comments, good or bad, always good to hear.
