JANUARY 6, 2021
HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Welcome to 2021. Sure hope it’s much better than 2020 has been. Hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Year’s holiday.I guess everyone did as well as they could with the stipulations still in place.
As I’m typing my news, we are getting a pretty good snow storm. I’ve heard reports that roads are very bad and to stay home if you don’t have to travel. Some roads were closed for a while because of so many accidents. Guess I’ll watch the plow come through and get rid of that white stuff. It does look pretty, from inside, and if you don’t have to go out.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, Landenberg, spent a few days over New Year’s at their home here. They relaxed, went for walks, and worked on puzzles. Had a nice, quiet, enjoyable time. (They should be here now.)
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale, the first and third Sunday of the month, from Noon to one p.m. at the Church Hall. To order, call 570-928-8909.
Some local businesses are going to be able to have regular hours, with CDC guidelines in place. Support the local folks and VFW’s to help them keep going. It’s been a hard year for everyone.
Not a lot of news. Guess most folks just stayed home and spent time with those that were right there. Don’t forget, we will get through this if everyone does their part. Wear a mask, practice social distancing and wash your hands frequently. If you’re sick, please stay home. Hopefully, we can get rid of this virus sooner than later. Cases in Sullivan County are on the rise, so we all need to do our part.
Happy Birthday wishes to send to Jeannie Kapler and Alex Stavisky, January 4th; Matt Weisbrod, 6th; Linda Santarelli and John McDonald, Jr., both on the 7th. Hope you all have a nice day.
B’s Gang sends birthday wishes to Tyler (Slick) Higley who celebrates on the 13th. Hope you have a great day.
Happy Anniversary to Ted and Linda Beaver who celebrate on the 12th. Congratulations and many more.
I think that’s it for this time. Enjoy your week. Might be doing some snow clearing. I heard it’s supposed to be pretty nice, but we’ll see. If you have news you would like in the paper, please call me at 570-928-9238 by 6 p.m. You can also see me or e-mail at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Have a great week and I’ll be here next time.
