Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Sunday wasn’t such a good day with icy conditions, so travel was not recommended for the day. It did get warmer in the afternoon so the icy conditions were not so bad. If we get more snow, sleet and rain, take your time. Leave a little earlier to get to where you are going safely.
I hope all of you who have been bothered with colds or the flu are feeling much better and out and about. I guess we still have to wear a mask, practice social distancing and wash our hands often.
I got a phone call from Florida the other day from Joyce (Johnson) Ford, Pensacola (Paradise), Florida. She said it’s 35 degrees here; the ocean hasn’t frozen over, so come see us.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale the first and third Sunday of the month. Can be picked up at the Church Hall from Noon to 1 p.m. To order, call 570-928-8909.
Did you know if you wrap your celery, broccoli of heads of lettuce in aluminum foil, they will last up to 6-7 weeks longer? Have to try that. Did not know.
Get well wishes to Matt Dayton who is recuperating at home after being in the hospital for some time due to a bad infection from a work injury. I talked to Matt on Saturday and he’s doing better, but has a long road of recovery ahead of him.
Sorry to hear that the Eagles Mere Toboggan slide has been cancelled for this year. Hopefully next year will be a good one for both ice and no viruses.
Jerry and Barbara are mourning the loss of their dog, Penny, who recently passed away. They now have a new puppy, named Dixie, to give them comfort. I met Dixie on Saturday and she is a peach. I’m sure she’ll bring a lot of pleasure to both of them.
B’s Gang sends Happy Birthday wishes to Tyler (Slick) Higley, 13th. Have a good day.

I saw some activity at Tent City over the weekend. Hope they all had an enjoyable time.
Guess that’s the news. Enjoy your week. I think winter is finally upon us as it’s getting colder and snowier. We are getting down to the single digits early in the morning and doesn’t seem to warm up much during the day. Take care if you’re going out. Dress warm. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
