January 5, 2022
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Let’s hope 2022 will be much better than 2021 was. Weather has been in our favor for some time now. No snow to speak of and temperatures in the high 40’s and low 50’s, which was unusual for December.. We did have some rain. Hope you all had a nice Christmas and that Santa was good to each of you.
Hope those of you who got bitten by that flu bug are feeling much better. Seems like it just wants to hang on. Not a lot of freezing temperatures to get rid of the germs floating around.
Congratulations to Mike and Becky Stavisky, Tequesta, FL, on the birth of their baby boy, Austin Michael, on the 19th of December. Grandparents are Alex and Ginny Stavisky, Palm Beach, FL. They spend a lot of summer time here in Lopez. All are doing well.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale the first and third Sunday of the month. Pick up from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Church Hall. To order, call 570-928-8909.
I guess most folks are staying close to home and not coming to their homes and cabins. Sure hope the summer weather will be good for them to finally get out. And, with all the Covic and other variants going on, it’s best to stay to yourself, I guess, until this crap is over with.
Happy Birthday wishes to Jeannie Kapler and Alex Stavisky, 4th; Matt Weisbrod, 6th; Linda Santarelli, 7th; and John McDonald, Jr., 9th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Keep an eye on the Sully to see if there might be something of interest to you. There are things going on in and around the County for you to enjoy. Haven’t heard yet if the Eagles Mere toboggan slide will be in operation or not. Need some really cold temperatures to cut that ice to make the slide.
I think that’s it for now. Enjoy your week; looks like it might be fairly nice. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com., by 5 p.m. on Sunday evening. I will get it in for you. Take care; stay warm; stay safe.
