Brrrrrrr!!!! It was a cold weekend. Saturday the temperature was down to 4 degrees and only went up to 15 degrees during the day. Sunday was 2 degrees and didn’t warm up much at all. It was very windy and cold both days. Warm-up is coming, but don’t really know when. Heard some nasty weather may be coming our way Tuesday into Wednesday; have to wait and see. We’ve been very lucky. Did you see the news on TV and what the South and West got hit with. Sad day for all those folks.
Sympathy from the community to the Kline family on the loss of Elaine on December 24th. Funeral will be at the convenience of the family. She will be missed.
Hope all of you who celebrated Orthodox Christmas over the weekend had a nice day. Sorry I failed to mention this in last week’s news, but did want to mention it now.
Haven’t seen many people out and about so don’t know who’s at their cabins or where they are. Probably hunkered down at home keeping warm and reading a good book. I do see a few hunters every now and then coming from the woods; they never seem to have anything, but they got some exercise.

HINT: “To make easy deviled eggs, put cooked yolks in a zip lock bag. Seal, mash until they are all broken up. Add remainder of ingredients, reseal, keep mashing and mixing thoroughly. Cut the tip of the bag, squeeze mixture into the egg white. Just throw the bag away when done……easy clean up.” (I know some who have tried this and it does work, but I’m “old school” and still like to do it with the pastry blender and mix the ingredients in myself.)
Guess that’s the winter news for now. If you get out, be sure to bundle up to prevent frost bite and walk briskly to and from where you are going. Better days ahead…….I hope. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
Woke up to trees coated with ice. Rather attractive in the sunlight.
