January 4, 2017
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and will have a great 2017 year. Weather was pretty nice over the Holidays for travel. Did have some snow and there was lots of toboggan riding on the hill across from us. Looked like a good time. Hopefully the weather will stay nice for a while, but guess we have to get ready for whatever comes our way.
Congratulations to Jason and Dorothy Bahr on the birth of their baby, Lillie Ann, who was born on December 23rd. She weighed 6.7 lbs. She has a sister, Khloie, and all are doing well.
Don and Irene (Kravitz) Risser recently spent a few days in town. They visited with Mary Kravetz and they all had lunch at Jolly Trolley in Dushore with Annabelle Kravetz of Mildred. Irene just returned from a trip that included five days in Rome, Italy. Then she boarded a cruise ship westward bound across the Atlantic to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Port stops along the way included Florence, Italy; ports in Tuscany and Provence, France; Barcelona, Spain, the island of Majorca and the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands.

HINT: To loosen stubborn glue dried on scissors or a counter, cover with WD 40. It can dissolve the adhesive components of even strong glue to make it easier to remove.
Spending Monday through Wednesday with Joe and Diane (Charnik) Fanning was her cousin, Michael Charnik and his girlfriend, Karen. They are from New Jersey. They all had an enjoyable walk around Lopez on Tuesday; it was the best day of the week…sunny, with a little wind, but nice. They took a ride to Dushore to see the only red light in the County (they were very impressed that it was the only red light), then an enjoyable ride through the country side. They said they would love to come back again.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book: January 1, 1974 it was cloudy with late rain and 24 degrees. I just looked at the thermometer on this January 1st day and it’s sunny and 39 degrees. That’s great.
There will be no Civic meeting in the month of January.
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; from what I hear it’s to be pretty nice. Get out and do some sledding, if you can, or just take a walk and get some fresh air. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
