February 9, 2022
Well, what can I say but it’s COLD!! What a week with all kinds of weather. Rain, sleet, snow and that never ending wind. Have below zero temperatures early in the morning and most days never got up above 20 degrees. Sure am hoping for nice weather soon. I heard that February is the coldest and nastiest month. Starting out that way, but we’ll see what Mother Nature has in store for us. The week is to be a tad warmer but it changes in an instant. We can only hope.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale the first and third Sunday of the month. The can be picked up at the Church Hall between Noon and 1 p.m. Call 570-928-8909 to order.
Hope anyone who has been feeling poorly is on the mend and feeling much better. Apparently the flu bug has been going around. Take care of yourself and stay in and stay warm.
I haven’t been out for three days to really go anywhere. Was just too darn cold, so stayed hunkered down at the house. I did see a few folks go by, walking their dogs. JR and Tyler McGuire enjoyed sledding on the hill beside their house on Sunday. Said it was quite icy and went fast but was a lot of fun and said it was like walking on pavement to get back up the hill as it was ice covered snow. They are just a “little” sore.
There have been some beautiful pictures posted on Face Book of the ice covered bushes and trees and the snowy conditions. Thank you to those what have been posting and sharing with others.
Happy Birthday to Tommy VanDyke and Crystal Vermiere, both on the 14th, which is Valentine’s Day; Haley Latch will be “Sweet Sixteen” on the 15th. She is the granddaughter of Joe and Diane (Charnik) Fanning who spend a lot of time at their home here; Allison Lowden and Tim Brown, both on the 17th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Keep an eye on the Sully to see what is going on. You might some of the activities and want to take part or just enjoy. Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week, whatever your plans. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Please call by 6 p.m. on Sunday. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
