February 7, 2018
Well, as I sit here Sunday evening typing my news, all I can say is SNOW, SNOW, SNOW. We must have 5+ inches already and it’s still coming down. Schools are delaying or closing already. Plows were out this afternoon, but it’s all covered, so guess they’ll be back out again soon to take care of that white stuff. Last I heard, there is another storm coming on Wednesday with an additional 5-8 inches of snow. Maybe this will be our last. We can hope, can’t we!!
Hope everyone enjoyed the Super Bowl and your team won, whoever it was. I’m not into football, so don’t watch the games. Hopefully, everyone got to where they were going for any party and back home safely.
Don’t know much going on. I know there will be winter activities going on during February, so keep an eye on the Sully for that information.
I haven’t been out too much. Got a stinkin’ cold so have been kinda staying inside and trying to get it gone already. Hope you all aren’t being bothered with that terrible flu bug going around. Every year they say it’s the worst one yet. Hope everyone who does get bothered with cold or flu gets much better soon.
Let’s see. Some birthday wishes to send out. Happy Birthday to Alex Aharonian, 11th; Lisa Kellogg Williams, 13th; Tommy Van Dyke and Krystal Vermiere, 14th; Haley Latch and Shawn Laird, 15th. Hope you all have a good day.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all. Hope everyone has an enjoyable day with loved ones.
I had a nice phone chat with Alice Fedorchak the other day at the Loyalsock Rehabilitation Center where she is a resident. She’s doing well and wanted to know what was going on in Lopez. Said to tell all her friends that she says Hello and she misses her home here.
HINT: “Heat left over pizza in a non-stick skillet on top of the stove. Set heat to medium-low and heat until warm. This keeps the crust crispy. not soggy.”
The Civic Association still has some hoodies available for this cold weather. If interested, call “B” at 570-954-6319 for colors, sizes and prices.
Well, time to go get a cup of hot water with honey an apple cider vinegar. Helps the throat. So, guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; probably have to get out and shovel and plow. Just don’t over-do. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
We got a little bit of snow over the past few days and the animals are having a tough time getting around.
