Well, how do you like the crazy weather?? All week was some snow, cold, frost, wind and Thanksgiving wasn’t all that good. As I’m typing my news Sunday evening, the weather is nasty, as it was all day with sleet, wind and flurries. Sure would like it to warm up, but don’t think that will be the case any time soon.
Congratulations to Paige and Kyler Burke for making the Honor Roll. Keep up the good work.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies and halupki for sale. To order, please call 570-928-8909 and leave a message with your order. Pick up will be Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving. Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with Brian McGuire and Nina Weslowski were her parents, Gerry and Paula Weslowski, Allentown; her brother Paul Weslowski and his partner, Chris Weand, Allentown; Bob McGuire, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek; Marty Slocum, New Albany and us. Meal was delicious, especially desserts. All enjoyed playing Win, Lose or Draw.
No Civic meeting for the coming months. Watch the Sully for date, time and place of the next one. It’s not too late; you can still pay your 2020 dues. See Heather McDonald.
Started out nice on Sunday, but the weather suddenly changed. Despite the freezing rain and wind, the Monument area and Pavilion were decorated for Christmas. Had a really good group of workers that included Molly and Clair Johnson; Heather, Kaeleigh and Kyleigh McDonald; Vito Arcaro; Kyler Burke; Brian McGuire; Nina Weslowski; and us. Didn’t take that long and hope you all like it when the lights are on and you’re coming into town.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, Landenberg, spent a few days over the Holiday at their home here. Went home early to avoid the storm.
Happy Birthday wishes to Aaron Risser, 9th; Andrea (Matychak) Anderson and Irena Pochatko, 12th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Good luck deer hunters. With the ground cover of snow, you will be able to track that big buck with no trouble.
There are still things that go on around the County. Keep your eye on the Sully to find out details. You may be interested in something.
Guess that’s it. Enjoy your week, but be careful out there and stay safe. I heard we may get up to ten inches of snow. Hope it’s wrong, but never know at this time of year what Mother Nature has in store for us. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
