How’s everyone doing? Hopefully, as well as can be expected. I was sorry to hear that Sullivan County has their first case of the virus. I knew it was bound to happen, but I hoped it wouldn’t. Let’s hope the person will recover fully with no after effects. Still have to take precautions and stay home as much as possible.
The weather for the week wasn’t too bad, other than the wicked wind. Lows were in the 20’s and 30’s with warm up during the day. Sunday was the best day and was nice to get out and take a long walk. Better weather is coming. I just know it.
Congratulations to Kyler Burke on winning the S.C. Council on the Arts Literary Contest for her eerie fantasy story. Read it in last week’s paper and continuing in next issues. Kyler won the top award in four of the last five years she has entered. Great job, Kyler.
St. Vladimir’s Church has halupki and pierogie for sale, the second and fourth Sunday of the month. Available at the Church Hall from Noon to 1 p.m. Stop by and stock up.
The Che-Hanna Rock and mineral meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, the 8th, has been cancelled due to the virus. Don’t know exactly when the next meeting will be.
The Civic Association meeting that was to be held on Tuesday, 21st, has also been cancelled until such time as we can again have meetings.
Happy Birthday wishes to send to John Risser, 12th; Joyce Walsh, 13th; Kristin Iwancio, 15th; Pat (Romania) Burd and Carole (Fedorchak) Underwood, 17th. Hope you all have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Sheldon and Penny Sperry as they celebrate on the 13th. Congratulations and many more.
With folks staying in as much as possible, there isn’t much news to report. Make a phone call to a neighbor or friend and see how they are doing. They will appreciate it, especially those living alone, who would just like to hear a friendly voice.
Well, guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week. May get some rain, but it’s to be a lot warmer than it has been. I’ll take it. Might make us feel a little better during this virus situation, which I hope will be over and done very soon. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time. Stay healthy; stay safe.
