Are we going to get any nice weather?? The week was windy, cold, some warm days, some not. Saturday was the best day and Sunday was pouring rain and thunder. The fields are so saturated when you walk, it’s squishy. I heard rain during the week again too. I think Wednesday was to be the nicest day, but that can change.
Sympathy from the community to the family, relatives and friends of Gus Tamburro who passed away on the 9th. He was, at one time, a resident of Lopez. Was a good friend and good neighbor when he lived here on Church Street. He and his wife, Edith, sold the home to Ted and TJ Lowden and moved back to Marlton, NJ, where he was Mayor for many years. He is missed by all who knew him.
Sympathy also to the family, relatives and friends of Mike Sinovich who passed away on the 11th. Lived in Lopez at one time but was now a resident of Wilmington, DE.
St. Vladimirs Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Marc and Lisa Fenster, granddaughters, Lily and Eva Lopez, Philly, spent the weekend at their home here with Anthony, Bethany, Dominic and Christopher Sneidar. The girls enjoyed playing with Kaileigh and Kyleigh McDonald. All had a good time.
Bob and JoAnn McGuire spent Saturday with Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek. Tyler made a birthday dinner for his Gramma. Consisted of delicious chicken picata, homemade pickles, homemade cake and icing. He’s getting to be quite the chef in the kitchen. Of course, Gramma did the dishes. Had a great family time.
Hope you all have your Easter togs and baskets ready for Easter Sunday. Maybe the Easter bunny will stop by your house.
Congratulations of Kaeleigh and Kyleigh McDonald for getting all A’s on their Agora home school papers. Keep up the good work.
Happy Birthday to Roseanna Lukachik, 18th; Holly Ann Sperry, 20th; Jon-Paul Matychak, 23rd. Hope you all have a nice day.
Happy Birthday and Get Well Wishes to our friend, Tom Beck. He celebrates on the 18th and hope he’s feeling much better. Comes to Sullivan County often.
HINT: “If you have an over-ripe banana, hang it on a tree branch in your garden for the butterflies. Leave the skin on.” (Apparently, they love it.)
Guess that’s it. Enjoy your week. May have to use the rain boots and umbrella, but not to be cold. Better than freezing cold and snow, like some places are getting. Hope you all have a Blessed Easter. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
