Weekend wasn’t the best; Sunday turned out to be the better day with temperatures in the high 60’s. Mother Nature still blessed us with a light coating of snow on Friday. She can’t seem to get her head straight and give us warm and sunshine. I did hear the week’s weather is to be pretty good; may have changed it already; haven’t seen the weather yet today, Sunday. Guess I’ll wait and see what the week brings.

Bob and I, along with Brian, Bob, Jr. and Tyler traveled to Cobleskill, NY, on Saturday, to attend the funeral of my Dad, Ed Davis, who passed away at 98 years young. Over 50 family members from PA, NY, MI, TX, and VA were there to pay their respects and say so long. Funeral was held at the United Methodist Church, Cobleskill, with burial in Dorloo Cemetery. Great grandson, Brian, was one of the pall bearers. He will certainly be missed; he touched many lives.
Here are some tips for Spring cleaning (if we get Spring):
Use a butter knife and a micro fiber cloth to clean registers. Put the kids bath toys in the dishwasher to clean. Use rubber gloves to remove pet hair from furniture. Put Christmas wrap in a see-through garment bag for storage.
Happy Birthday to Roseanne Lukachik, 18th; Holly Ann Sperry, 20th; Jon-Paul Matychak, 23rd; Katherine Kapler, 25th; Mickie Mowery, 26th; David Spinosa, 28th; and Ken Kline and Abby Matychak, 30th. Hope you all have a good day.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book: April 9, 1979 – Clear, cold, rain, 30 degrees and 1 1/2 inches of snow. On April 9, 2017, we had sun, light breeze, NO snow and 60+ degrees. I’ll take that any day over the snow and cold.
I think folks are really ready to get into their gardens and flower beds, if the weather would cooperate. There are some who have flowers starting to push through the ground; then the frost and snow comes and kills them.
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; it’s gotta get better soon, I hope. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
