Hope you all had a Blessed Easter holiday. The weather was just great for Sunday with sunshine and warm breeze. The rain held off until about 6:39 p.m. and then we had a pretty good shower. So, hope you all got in your activities for the day.
Don’t forget, there will be street sweeping on Monday, May 1st, between 6:30 and 7 a.m. so be prepared for noise and lots of dust. Also, watch the Sully for dumpster day in town as to what you can take and can’t take. That will be June 3rd.
Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek, along with Marty Slocum, New Albany, and Bob and JoAnn McGuire, enjoyed Sunday with Brian McGuire and Nina Weslowski. Was so nice to sit outside at the picnic table to have Easter dinner and visit.
Easter guests of Irene Huray were Irene Pequignot, Shawn, crystal, misty & Dylon Pequignot; Kevin Pequignot ,Rachelle & Stefano disalvo, Alyssa Pequignot & Freind David; Jennifer, Shawn, serenity& alek Laird & Elexus Dunkleberger; Mickey & Karen Bednar.
Sitting here Sunday evening and happened to look out the window and saw a beautiful, bright rainbow.
Get well wishes to Mary Lowden who just had hand surgery. Hope it’s much better and will be back in use soon.
TJ Lowden, Marlton, NJ, spent a couple of days over Easter at his home on Church Street.
HINT: “Uses for salt include using it to prevent wicker furniture from turning yellow. Also, oven cleaning can be made much easier if you sprinkle salt in the oven before you start.”
Looks like Tim Brown and his ankle are coming along nicely, but still has some time to go before putting any weight on the foot. Hopefully, it’ll be better in no time and he’ll be on the go once again.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order call 570-928-1099. Almost put my number again. I did that a few weeks ago and got a call that they wanted to order. The lady said that was the number in the paper, so I gave her the right number to call. I do make a mistake now and then.
Not a lot of news to report, but with the nicer weather finally getting here (maybe), there will be folks coming in to their summer homes and cabins and getting things ready for the season. Folks are getting gardens and flower beds ready for planting, so that’s a good sign. And, I finally got to see a couple of robins the other day. The birds are enjoying the feeders and just hope the bear won’t be around to give us trouble and do a lot of damage again. Will be time to move them to higher ground; any more you can’t just take them in at night; they’re here during the day too. They are nice to look at and watch, but they can be terrible mess makers.
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week; last I heard, it’s to be a pretty nice start of the week. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you.
OH OH! LOOKS LIKE THE DRONE FLEW AWAY
