SEPTEMBER 25. 2019
As I sit here early Monday morning typing my news, it is quite foggy out there.
GUESS WHAT!!!!! We had NO rain all week. It was such a beautiful week with warm temperatures and lots of sunshine. Don’t think it’s the same for this week. Looks like rain a couple of days. The leaves are falling; the humming birds have gone; the chipmunks are still here filling their cheeks with bird seed.
Irene Pequignot, Linden, spent the weekend at her home on Church Street.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Next Civic meeting will be Tuesday, the 15th of October, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion if the weather is nice. If not, it will be held at the Township Building.
Civic dues are now due for 2020. See Heather McDonald to pay yours and for 2019, if they haven’t been paid.
Halloween is just around the corner. Have you thought of how you might dress for that spooky day.
Bob and I spent Saturday visiting our son, Bob Jr., Hunlock Creek, and helped him work on a couple projects. Weather was perfect for outdoor work and was a nice time.
Who has seen the mountain lion again in Lopez? Guess he/she likes it here and wants to hang around. Hope someone is able to get a picture when seen.
Get well wishes to Rev Mother Christophora, Ellwood City, as she had knee surgery. Hope she continues to heal well. Thoughts and prayers going her way.
Keep an eye on the Sully for events that are coming up in October.
Happy Birthday wishes to Bob Day, 23rd; Annaliese Froese and Jon-Paul Matychak, 25th; Ted Beaver and Dinky Burke, 27th; and Kurt Schroeder, 29th. Have a nice day.
B’s gang send birthday wishes to Tom Finan as he celebrates on the 25th. Have a good day.
Happy Anniversary to Chris and Michele Craig, 27th; and Dustin and Sam Burke, 28th. Congrats and many more.
Guess that wraps it up for this time. Enjoy your week. A little rain never hurts. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
I got a note from a Jeff Shay along with a photo of a framed advertising picture containing a thermometer. He said it was in the first house he bought some years ago and kept it. Jeff told me he knew nothing about Lopez until he found www.lopezpa.com on the internet. Then he sent the photo to me. Here it is coompliments of Jeff Shay.
