What great weather we’ve been having, despite a couple days of frost. I’d take this all winter, if I could. I know Mother Nature has other ideas in store for us, so take advantage of this now, while you can. Haven’t heard people mowing their lawns this late in the season for quite some time.

Linda and Marino Santarelli had friends visit them last weekend. Sandy and Joe Iracki, Esq., Nanticoke were here. They are good friends of many decades. They enjoyed the Flaming Foliage Festival, Dushore and High Knob. A good time was had by all.
This Saturday, the 28th, will be the last soup-er Saturday at Hails Family Farm in Lopez. They will have fresh hot soup to go and chili, along with dinner roll and cornbread, starting at 11 a.m. at their Lopez stand. Any questions, call Joyce at 570-721-1145.
Jean Foust, Colley Township Tax Collector will be at the Township Building in Lopez on Monday, October 30th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for those of you wishing to pay your taxes. She’s also running as a write-in for Tax Collector on the November ballot.
Halloween party, Tuesday, the 31st, at the Pavilion, 6 p.m. Prizes and refreshments.
Don’t forget, Election Day is coming up on Tuesday, November 7th. It’s your privilege so do get out and vote for whoever you think will do the best job.
Next Civic meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 21st, 6 p.m. at the Township Building.
Special birthday wishes to a special person. If you see Doc Shoemaker out and about, wish him a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY as he celebrates 96 years on the 1st. Have a great day Doc!!!
Get ready! Mark your calendars. New Albany Volunteer Fire Company is presenting another play. This one is called “Fractured 70’s”. It will feature Charlie’s Angels, Green Acres, The Brady Bunch, Happy Days, Three’s Company, All in the Family, and Gilligan’s Island. This will be on November 4, 5, 10 & 11, with a matinee on Sunday, the 5th at 2 p.m. Otherwise, play is at 7 p.m. There will be bag auctions, basket raffles, lots of good food and beverages. If you’ve never been to one of their plays, you should go. Lots of fun and good entertainment.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099. The Church also has a halupki dinner coming up on Sunday, the 29th at the Church Hall. This will be from Noon to 4 p.m. and is Eat In or Take Out.
There will probably be other things going on around the County, so keep an eye on the Sully for that. Guess that’s the news for this time. Sure hope you enjoy this nice weather.
