October 24, 2018
I guess winter must be here or coming. The week’s weather was up
and down. Four days of frost; nice, sunny, warm days; Saturday rainy
and cold; Sunday very cold and windy but sunny. Someone mentioned
snow flurries, but I haven’t seen any yet. I would be happy not to
see any for the whole winter. Don’t really look forward to what is
coming, but I guess Mother Nature has things in store for us. Our
leaves and color are gone for this year. Wasn’t very colorful this
time due to all the rain we had. Hopefully, next year will be much
prettier.
Don’t forget. November 10, 11, 16 and 17, New Albany Volunteer
Fire Department will have their annual play. Watch social media for
more information.
November 25th, Noon to 5 p.m. St. Vladimir’s Church will have
their Ethnic Foods dinner. Eat in or take out. Mark your calendar
for both of these events.
Keep and eye on the Sully for events that may be going on that
you might be interested in.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Mrs. Irene Huray spent some time at her daughter’s, Irene
Pequignot, in Linden. The family all got together for a birthday
party in her honor while she was there.
Halloween is on the horizon. Got your costume ready? Civic
Association will hold a Halloween party on the 31st, 6 p.m. at the
Pavilion. Treats and prizes. Trick or Treating will be after the party.
If you’d like the kids to stop by, please have your porch light on.
Happy Birthday to Marty Whatley, 25th; Makayla Day, 27; Lydia
Spinosa, 28th; and Leo McDonald and Misty Pequignot, 31st. Hope you
all have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to Tom and Kristin Iwancio, 25th; and Marty and
Dee Whatley, 27th. Have a great day.
