Fall is in the air for sure this past weekend. Saturday was not too bad; did have some rain, but not like what was predicted. Sunday was something else. Was very cold and windy; sun peeked out for a short time in the afternoon, but not long and as the day wore on, the colder it got. I guess that other Season isn’t too far behind. I heard it’s to warm up the end of the week, but we’ll see. Just like we were supposed to get three to four hours of steady rain on Saturday; didn’t get much at all. Maybe some places did, but we didn’t. Thoughts and prayers go out to all those that were affected by Hurricane Matthew; they sure have a lot of damage, no power and some have no home to go to.
Congratulations and good luck to Ann Marie of Winterland Winery as she has moved to her new location. It is South of Dushore on Route 220, what used to be called Rock Run. Stop in and see her, wish her well. Lopez will miss her.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale. To order, call 570-928-1099.
Next Civic meeting will be on Tuesday, October 18th, 6 p.m. probably at the Township Building since the weather is getting colder.
The Civic Halloween party will be held on Halloween night, the 31st, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. Prizes and refreshments. If you want the ghosts and goblins to stop by, please leave your porch light on.
Mark your calendars now. The New Albany Volunteer Fire Company will have a play again this year. “A Fractured Election” will take place on Saturday, November 12th at 7 p.m.; Sunday, November 13th at 2 p.m.; Friday, November 18th at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, November 19th at 7 p.m. If you haven’t been to previous plays, you’ve missed a great time, so make a note and try to attend one of the performances. They do a great job and there will be lots of laughs. Doors open one hour before start of the play.
HINT: “Salt can be used for cleaning oil spills in the garage. Sprinkle salt on the spill and wait 15 minutes. It makes cleaning much easier.”

Happy Anniversary to Ted and Fay Puzo as they celebrate on the 14th. Have a great day.
The turkeys are still around; probably be in hiding once the season starts and the hunters are out to get them. Same with the deer; see only a couple now and then. They are in hiding.
