November 30, 2016
Hope you all had a very nice Thanksgiving. The weather sure cooperated most places for those who were traveling. Saturday we woke up to some snowy ground cover; didn’t last long. Sunday we woke up again with snowy ground cover; didn’t last long. Temperatures were up above 40 both days with some sunshine. Last I heard, the week is to be pretty good, with a chance of rain. I’ll take that over really cold, windy, snowy days.
Thanks to Dave, Ruth, Clair, Macrina, Bob and JoAnn for taking time out of their busy schedules on Friday to meet and decorate the monument area and pavilion for the Christmas season. Weather was in their favor; ground wasn’t frozen so was easy to pound the rods in the ground. We didn’t have to slosh through the snow back and forth. All in all, a good day. Good job, everyone.
Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek, spent Thanksgiving with Bob, JoAnn and Brian McGuire. Had a nice dinner at Brian’s and enjoyed the afternoon playing Win, Lose or Draw. Was a fun time.
Cory McDonald came in from Rhode Island to spend some time over the Thanksgiving holiday with his family and friends.

HINT: “Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste. Add garlic at the end of the recipe if you want a stronger taste.” (Never knew that, but I don’t use garlic much anyway.) “Leftover Snickers bars from Halloween make a delicious dessert. Simply chop them in a food processor. Peel, core and slice a few apples. Place them in a baking dish and sprinkle the chopped candy over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Serve alone or with vanilla ice cream.”
Guess I’ll take a look in Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book. November 27, 1973 – fog, rain and 44 degrees. Our temperature today was 44+, no fog and no rain.
Guess that’s the news for this time. Enjoy your week; make the most of it. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
