Gee, another dull, windy, rainy, cold weekend. When will the sun shine and stay warm. We’re ready for warm, not more cold.
The Kale family had some visitors last week. A mother bear and three cubs stopped by to check out the bird feeders on the front porch and to look in the window. Then, they went to the back porch and Ruth happened to look out and saw a cub looking in at her. She called the guys to come look and her voice never bothered the bear. They were checking things out and went on their way after a while. The Kale’s said they took the bird feeders in as the birds are good on their own now.
Bob and JoAnn McGuire spent Friday into Saturday with Bob, Jr. and Tyler McGuire, Hunlock Creek. They took Tyler with them to help set up at the 13th Annual NE PA Mineralogical show held in Pittston. Tyler also went back on Saturday to help at the show where UVBOB did the fluorescent mineral presentations on Saturday and Sunday. Tyler had a good time and was a big help. On Saturday evening Bob and JoAnn stayed with his sister, Lola and Mike Mattie in Forty Fort and went to the show from there. Was a good show and a good weekend. Was very cold, rainy and windy so there was a good attendance since folks couldn’t work outside.
