Finally had a nice weekend for a change. Was a perfect weekend for birthday parties and other events that were going on around the County. Happy Birthday to Jase Lowden who had a birthday party on Saturday at the Pavilion. He turned five years old last weekend. It was a fun day for kids and friends. He even had a bounce house to enjoy, along with snacks and cookies. There was just a tad bit of rain later in the day that didn’t amount to much at all. Jase is the son of TJ and Allison Lowden, Lopez.
Happy Birthday to Ariella Siddle who was one year old on the 18th. She had a birthday party on Sunday at James Short Park in Williamsport. Ariella is the daughter of Alyssa Pequignot, granddaughter of Kevin Pequitnot, and great granddaughter of Irene (Huray) Pequignot. She also has a brother, Braydon, at home.
Mark and Lisa Fenster, Philly, spent the weekend at their home here. Always yard work for Mark while he is here and it was nice weather to get that done,
Gerry and Paula Weslowski, Allentown, spent an enjoyable weekend with their daughter, Nina, and Brian McGuire.
Next Civic meeting will be on Wednesday, the 21st, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion. Old Home plans in the works. We are looking for volunteers to help out that day, Saturday, August 5th, from Noon to 10 p.m. If you’d like to volunteer some time, contact me below. Thanks in advance.
Lots of yard sales and flea markets going on over the Memorial Day Holiday. Check the Sully and Face Book to find out where and when and hope the weather cooperates for all of them.
Plants that help keep bugs away include rosemary for fleas and ticks; marigold for mosquitoes; basil and lavender for houseflies and mosquitoes. A few ideas when planting flowers and gardens. There are a lot of beautiful flowers I see when walking during the day. Just hope they don’t freeze and we keep the nice weather we are having.
Happy Birthday to Nick DeSanto, 29th; and Bruno Day, 31st. Have a great day.
Happy Anniversary to Joe and Diane Fanning, 28th and Jack and Joyce Walsh, 29th. Congratulations and enjoy your day.
Our Memorial Day parade in Lopez is Monday, the 29th at 10 a.m. in the Park. Speaker will be Darlene Fenton, SC Commissioner and USAF veteran. If any Lopez kids would like to march, please meet at the Post Office at 9:45 a.m. Hope to see you there.
That’s all for this time. Enjoy your week, whatever your plans. Take some time to attend one, or all, of the parades around the County to honor those who have served. Have news, give me a call at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
AS YOU MAY KNOW, THE LOPEZ CIVIC ASSOCIATION RENTS OUT THEIR PAVILION FOR EVENTS. THE LATEST RENTAL WAS FOR A
BIRTHDAY PARTY, AND IT WAS QUITE A BASH.
