Our weather was fairly nice during the week. Temperatures were mainly pretty good early morning. We did have a lot of sun, a little rain and a snow shower, but nothing major. There were geese flying North, a robin was seen by my neighbor in his yard, and the turkeys have made their presence known. Sunday was a perfect day and got up to a balmy 51 degrees. There was quadding and dirt bike riding that some enjoyed. Did you remember to turn your clock AHEAD on Sunday morning so you weren’t late for things?
Sympathy from the community to the family, relatives and many friends of Alice Fedorchak who passed away on the Monday, the 2nd. Funeral was held on Friday, with burial at SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Lopez. She was a long time Lopez resident and such a good friend and neighbor. I enjoyed visiting and sitting on the porch visiting with both her and Mike. She was most recently living in Williamsport and I enjoyed the many phone conversations we had. She always said to tell everyone Hello. She will be missed.

Congratulations to Charles Armioia and Paige Burke for making the second period Honor Roll.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, spent a few days at their home on Church Street and took advantage of the nice weather.

For those of you bothered with a sore throat, put a pinch of cayenne in two ounces of water and gargle. For flu and virus, take raw garlic clove in applesauce two times a day. Maybe it will help, maybe not.
Bob McGuire, Jr. and son, Tyler, Hunlock Creek, visited on Monday with us and with Brian McGuire. Tyler is on break from RIT in Rochester, NY.
With the warm weather, I don’t think much ice fishing got done, but we did see someone on Lake Jean a couple weeks ago. Wouldn’t get me out there, for sure.
Keep an eye on the Sully. There will be many activities coming up. There’s always a dinner or a benefit you may be interested in.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day on the 17th. Wearin’ of the green that day and all that goes with it. I’m sure there will be green beer and green foods served at most places to help celebrate.
I think that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week. I heard it’s to be “stupendous”!! Hopefully that will happen. Then, we’ll probably get more cold weather. Wish it would get warm and stay warm. This yo-yo type weather is not for me. Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
