Hope you all had a good week and got many things done with the nice days we had. Was a pretty good week with warm weather and sunny days. Rain did come in Wednesday evening after 7 p.m. On Saturday, Mama Bear and her two cubs made the rounds. Sunday we had a low of 29 degrees, with a good frost. Hopefully you had your flowers and gardens covered or maybe you had some “fried” things. Was sunny, but chilly all day. Around 10 a.m. Mama Bear and her two cubs were back. Tipped over the burning barrel at the neighbor’s home. The two cubs went up a tree while Mama walked around, down the neighbor’s driveway, down over the bank, back up to the neighbor’s house and right up on the porch. Finally, she and the cubs went off into the woods. They’ll be back, I’m sure. They come earlier all the time. They were also seen in one of the yards on Main Street and got into another burning barrel there too. So, they know Lopez pretty well.
Not a lot going on around town. I did hear a ton of motorcycles going both Saturday and Sunday so they were all taking advantage of the nice weather. There are always quads and dirt bikes being ridden too. It’s also nice to smell the charcoal grills making a delicious meal. Swimming pools are starting to be used when it’s warm enough.
Adel Bradshaw was in for a couple days to check on her house and so was Joe and Diane Fanning who came in to mow the grass and take care of their home. I know there were others who probably were around but I didn’t hear from them or see them.
The gardens are looking really good and the flower beds and hanging baskets are so pretty. The humming birds especially like some of the different, colorful flowers and it’s always fun watching them chasing each other around.
Happy Birthday wishes to send to Dana (Bling Bling) Dempsey, 20th; Jack Caccia, 22nd; and Cindy Stavisky, 23rd. Hope you all have a grand day.
Congratulations to the Sullivan County High School Class of 2020. Hope you all have great success in whatever you choose to do.
