Weather has been getting better. Had some nice days during the week and Saturday. Did have rain and cool temperature all day Sunday. But, I guess that’s good as the gardens and flower beds need the water. The flower gardens and hanging baskets are looking nice and the gardens are coming along. We’ll see what the week brings.
WOW!! We are really having a problem with so many bears. About 9 a.m. on Monday morning, we heard a funny noise from our bedroom. Went to the other room and Bob sees a bear on our roof, after the bird feeder. She climbed 23 feet of our antenna tower, got on the roof. Bob scared her back down but not for long; she came back up; stood on the tower and reached until she pulled the feeder down and licked all the seed off the roof. She finally left, went over the hill where her two cubs were in the apple tree. She came back the next day, but there was nothing there for her. There are two mama bears, each with two cubs and three male bears. They’ve been up Main Street. There is video of one climbing on a porch railing to get food, one tore the door right off a small shed. And, this is early in the day, early afternoon and some evenings. It’s scary to be out and about and with school out, it’s a danger for the kids. And, the Game Commission doesn’t want to do anything!!! Bob was coming into town on Saturday evening and a BIG bear crossed the road and headed to the Township Building for some goodies. They say put your garbage in your garage or shed, but I don’t think that would stop them from getting it. If you go to www.lopezpa.com, click on Lopez news and scroll down and you will see her on the roof. There are also pictures of the bridge work being done in town. It’s coming along and will probably be late October before it’s finished.

HINT: ” Bug guts will eat away the finish on your car. Remove quickly with WD-40. It also attracts fish. Spray a little WD-40 on live bait or lures and you’ll be catching the big one in no time. (Don’t know if these work or not.)
I’m sure there are going to be things going on in Sullivan County, so keep and eye on the Sully to find out.
