Hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July weekend. We had some really heavy rain on Thursday and again early Saturday and there was a lot of thunder and lightning. It did turn out nice late Saturday for gatherings and picnics. Sunday was a really nice day for places that held picnics and fireworks. Some rain expected during the week, but warm again.

It saddens me to report the death of Molly Johnson on the 3rd of July. She was such a dear friend to all who knew her. Funeral was held on Tuesday, the 6th, from Zion Lutheran Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. She will certainly be missed.

There was some activity at Tent City over the Holiday weekend as some of the places were occupied and we enjoyed the fireworks.
Gardens are doing quite well from the rain we got. Hopefully they will give lots of produce to enjoy. Flowers are looking good. I have a spot where mint is growing like crazy. I’ve been drying it and giving it to family to use. Seems this is the best year and just keeps going.
I think that’s it for now. Enjoy your week. It’s going to be a nice one. Have news, call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I will put it in for you. Please send it to me by 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
