Quite a rainy week. Had a couple hot days. Looks like rain almost all this week too. Guess that’s better than snow. The grass will grow and we’ll need a couple of goats to take care of it. The water table will raise and the gardens will get a nice drink.
On Wednesday, Julick (Gulick) Carlesco, Syracuse, NY, Rod and Mary Smith, Lancaster County and Andrea (Matychak) Anderson and Vince Carbone, Cornwall, PA, gathered with Mother Christophora at St. Nicholas House on Church Street to enjoy a visit to the Gulick family homestead, taking time to reminisce about many family gatherings during the past decade and memories of family members who have gone to eternal rest. They enjoyed sharing a meal together and a walk down “Memory Lane”. Also stopping for a visit was Sally Coleman and son, Matthew, of Bucks County. The weather was perfect.
Joe and Diane Fanning, along with Molly, Landenberg, spent a few days at their home here. Was a little rainy and wet to get much yard work done, but they managed.
St. Vladimir’s Church has pierogies for sale, the first and third Sunday of the month. Noon to 1 p.m. at the Church Hall. Order yours by calling 570-928-8909.
Civic meeting on Wednesday, the 21st, 6 p.m. at the Pavilion.
Happy Birthday to Quinn Vinetelli, 12th; Woody Woodford and Averie Bahr, 13th; David Black; 14th; Matthew Santarelli, 17th. Have a nice day.
Happy Anniversary to David and Lavonne Black as they celebrate on the 14th. Also, anniversary wishes to Matt and Sherill Dayton on the same day. Congratulations.
I had a surprise visit the other day from a young lady who lived in Lopez some time ago. Jill Black (McWilliams), her daughter, Christina and husband, and her two grandsons rode around Lopez and their old homestead. They were on their way to visit Brent McWilliams and family down in Benton. Was nice to see her. It’s been a long time. I think that’s about it. Enjoy your week. May need the boots and umbrella, but that’s ok. The humming birds are sure enjoying the rain and spending time at the feeder. Saw a doe and her fawn the other day under the apple tree enjoying some lunch. The fox is around, but haven’t seen it lately, but has been leaving his “calling card”. Haven’t had the bear here, but Tim Brown has been getting some good trail cam pictures. I guess he likes it up there best, but that’s fine with me. Have news, call me, before 6 p.m. on Sunday evening at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at news@lopezpa.com. I will get it in for you. I’ll be here next time and thanks for reading.
