Was a pretty hot weekend. Did have a brief shower on Friday evening. Next I hear for rain will be Thursday. Sure do need it. The lawns are so brown and crispy and the wells and gardens need water.

Old Home Days right around the corner. Check the ad in this week’s paper for details. Pavilion clean-up went very well last week. Thank you to all who came to help.
The Pavilions project is really looking nice; thanks for all the help with this project. Can’t name names; I’ll forget someone, but there was a LOT of good help (men, women, boys, girls) during the time of the project. These are most of the workers but few more came later and are not in the photo. Was really appreciated. Thanks to Chef Marty who grilled the dogs and burgers; Angie for potato salad and cupcakes; and Jr. for pasta salad. Was enjoyed by all.
Bob McGuire, Jr., Hunlock Creek, visited Bob, JoAnn and Brian McGuire on Saturday and picked up his son, Tyler, who had spent the week here. Had lots of fun and Tyler sure can kick butt at ladder golf. He beat me every game.
Many things going on around Sullivan County, so check the paper for details.
Happy Birthday to Mark Hartnett and Carole Kilgus, 28th; Madison Burke and Matty Dayton, 29th; and Casey Bonardi, 30th. Have a good day.
Happy Anniversary to Mario and Linda Santarelli as they celebrate on the 28th. Have a nice day.
From Mr. Neubauer’s little brown book: 24 July 1980 – Fair, cool and 52 degrees. Wow!!! We got that beat by a long shot. Was very hot, muggy, sunny, and must have hit 80 degrees.
Guess that’s the news for now. Enjoy your week, whatever you may do; probably spend time in the pool or the creek (if we get any water). Have news call me at 570-928-9238; mail me; see me; or e-mail me at www.news@lopezpa.com. I’ll get it in for you. Thanks for reading and I’ll be here next time.
